BOO

Boo, Michael leaves on Saturday morning. I'll deal, but it still makes me sad. We had both sets of parents and grandparents and his cousin Jennifer and her family over for dinner tonight for all to say their goodbyes. My fear is what effect this will put on Sweet T. I know we will all come out fine, but she is so attached to daddy right now. Alright long deployment, bring it on and hurry up and get here December 2010.

oh my

I just moved 5,000 photos off my laptop onto my flash drive. I had no idea I had so many on there! upside is my pc will run better/faster!

strawberry pickin'

Sweet T and I had some one on one time today and we went strawberry picking with our new playgroup. She had the best time ever and I really enjoyed eating the strawberries out in the patch! Yes, I ate dirty strawberries and they were yummy! You can't get strawberries any fresher than picking them yourself, we are going to do this again at the end of May and I can't wait.

we had a great time, can you tell?

Old Friend

Hi Old Friend. If you have found your way here to my blog, I would like for you to know why I ended our friendship. You found it more important to get drunk and sleep in due to a hangover than to meet my precious baby girl when we were finally able to fly her home for everyone to meet her. I was so proud and excited to show her off, and you could only think of yourself. I found it to be rude and selfish. You are a mother and it would hurt you too if I had done it to you. End of story.

March For Babies

When she was born we were told that she may never walk, but she runs. When she was born, we were told she may be blind, her favorite color is pink. When she was born, we were told she may lose her hearing, but she sure knows a few select 4 letter words!

She is my daughter. She has a name and it is Tobbie Ruth. Her name was chosen by Michael and I. Tobbie is after my grandfather that I adore and Ruth was Michael's great-grandmother that he misses dearly.

When she was born, we didn't know if she was a boy or girl until about an hour after her birth. As soon as we found out, I felt she needed to be named, I couldn't bear the thought of having to name my child if she had already passed away. Michael got to go in and see her first. When he came back to my room to tell me about her, he was so strong for me. I remember him telling me that she had a head full of black hair, and she did. She weighed a whopping 1 pound 9 ounces and was 11 1/2 inches long. When they finally let me go in to see her, the nurse looked at me like I was crazy because I said, "she looks like a baby." All the pregnancy books make them out to still look like aliens at 24 weeks. She was so beautiful and I didn't want to leave her side.

At nine days of life, we flew her from Okinawa, Japan to Fort Lewis, Washington. She stayed there until April 17th, just a few days before her due date, when she was discharged.

Thank you March of Dimes for all your research, you've helped my daughter and you've helped me to have a successful pregnancy that resulted in Tobbie's lil brother!

And thank you Karen for the amazing logo you made for our team. We were even on the six o'clock news because our shirts stood out!

lots of fun and tricks!

Well, we have been extremely busy around here. Our days are limited with having Michael home. He leaves a week from tomorrow. We have been trying to cram a lot of family time in. This deployment is going to do a number on Tobbie and it worries me. Tristan is too young to know any different, but Tobbie will know. She freaks out when she wakes up in the morning and Michael isn't home on the days he goes hunting. Poor baby girl. She has become so attached to him and it just breaks my heart. We will all come out just fine, but it is going to be hard.

We have been having a lot of family fun time! With it being as warm as it has been, we bought Tobbie a kiddie pool and set it up for her. She loved it!

We also went to the Mossy Creek Barnyard Festival. Tobbie really enjoyed watching the cloggers. Michael took her into the petting zoo and also on a little horseback ride. Both kiddos got a leather belt with their name on the back. I kid you not.

We went yesterday to the Museum of Aviation and a particular little girl had the BEST time! Today we are going to make paper airplanes and fly them in the back yard.

Now on to the tricks! Tristan has started eating cereal and green beans! He didn't care for the cereal too much so we added the green beans and boy is he a hungry boy!
He can also roll over!!!
Ok, enough for now. Once Michael leaves, I'll be posting more, I PROMISE!!!

Gone Fishin' & 4 month well baby appointment

After lunch today, we took Sweet T fishing. Her daddy put a hook on her Barbie pole and the two of them had a ball! This was her first "real" fishing experience with a hook and bait.
Does this bobber make noise?

Not too sure about those worms

This just makes my heart melt, she loves her daddy!

Tristan had his 4 month well baby appointment today also. He has been growing a garden in his left ear. This kid has more wax in his ear than I have ever seen! CPT Harrish (the nurse practitioner) pulled out this long blue thing and scraped out a good bit of it. He now weighs in at...drum roll please.......15lb. 7 1/2 oz! He is 25 1/2 inches long and his head is 41cm. He is doing very well, minus the fever and crankiness he has had due to the shots he got.

who needs sleep?

Seriously, who needs sleep? My darling little children have been taking turns for the past 3 1/2 hours waking up. Serious, when I get one down, the other will wake up. My stud-muffin of a husband did offer to get up and help, but I told him to not bother, I will be on my own in a few weeks and need to figure out how to handle a situation like this without him here. My solution, lots of joe (coffee). Nap time will be lovely this afternoon and I am gonna take advantage of it!

Happy Birthday to Mimi, Cereal, Bang, Bang!

Today was Mimi's (Michael's mom) birthday! Happy Birthday Mimi! Tobbie made a delicious cake
Doesn't it look yummy?

Mimi's (Diane)mom (Gigi) cooked a fantabulous dinner for all of us (us = me,michael, tobbie, tristan, don, diane and uncle robert). She made a roast, fresh green beans, fresh butter beans, squash casserole and rice. That lady can cook and I think I gained 10lbs. last night!

Tobbie had a wonderful time explaining her card and gift to Mimi. Tobbie has been facinated with bugs, butterflies, bees ever since we went to Callaway Gardens and she wanted to make a butterfly card. Then she made her an egg carton caterpiller for her gift. She was so proud of it and had to explain to us all that she made it.

We finished the evening off taking turns playing on the sit-n-spin and Tristan wanted in on all the fun!

My darling husband is such a kid at heart!

We gave Tristan his first little taste of rice cereal today. He wasn't sure what to do with it and he did gag once or twice. Maybe he isn't ready for it just yet, we will ask at his 4 month appointment tomorrow!

Michael and I also went shooting today. We both feel this is a very important, perishable skill (especially with me home by myself a good bit) to have. We have been going out to the range some and here is a shot of my target (don't mind the boo boo owie stickers, it was so I could reuse my target. but there are holes underneath from where I got him!). I am going to continue this while he is gone to get better and better
I got him once between the eyes and twice in the nose, all but a few were kill shots! ok intruders, you had better think twice before entering my house! Just to add, my husband is an expert shooter and has been training me properly on the handling of our guns. I think the worst thing is people being afraid of guns, but that is a whole different blog!

Re-Cap of Savannah trip

Ok, I just downloaded the photos from mine and Michael's trip to Savannah.

Our first order of business was to stop and eat some oysters on the half shell. We seriously ate 4 dozen oysters, 1lb. of shrimp, and 1lb. of craw fish. It was of course washed down by some deliciously strong frozen cocktails from Wet Willies.

ok, this last photos is what was blocking our view of the Savannah River. Thanks EPA!

Later that night we went on our Haunted Pub Crawl and it was a drag, sorry no photos to share. Saturday we went to Tybee Island and took a short stroll on the beach and had more yummy cocktails at Fannie's on the Beach. Prior to that, we had lunch at the Crab Shack. OMG we made ourselves sick from eating so much food!

This last photo is of the cute alligator farm at the Crab Shack.

Saturday night we went out to a nice restaurant, The Bull Street Chop House. I think we seafooded ourselves out! Is that even possible? Well, I pulled a Pretty woman move (from the movie). Somehow while I was cutting my steak, I flipped my $60 lobster tail on the floor! I was laughing so hard, I couldn't pick it up right away. I did and I ate it and it was yum, yum! After dinner we went over to Michael's favorite hang out, "The Velvet Elvis Lounge". We watched a Guns-N-Roses tribute band and they were awesome! Too bad we were both too drunk to fully enjoy it!

We finished our trip with a nice brunch that consisted of a blue crab fritata, fresh fruit and grits. I finished it off by purchasing 1 1/2lb. of pralines. Sorry there aren't any photos of the pralines, I ate them so fast there wasn't anytime for that!

I had a wonderful trip and it will be a long time before he and I get the chance to do it again. What an awesome man, I love him.
