Major Party Foul

Sweet T had a MAJOR party foul last night while out to dinner with some friends. I got her a virgin strawberry daquari and they did it up cute with fruit and umbrellas. Well, I had her and Tristan both sitting in my lap when she turns the drink over, in our laps! Tristan was screaming because it a frozen drink thrown on him, it's all in my crotch, down my legs, and Sweet T got this tiny little spot on her knee. Talk about sticky. We have all recovered and unstickied (is that a word?) ourselves.

We also had a garage sale yesterday at our house. My mom came out and helped, and not just with the sale. She was so wonderful and helped me with the inside of my house! I've been neglecting my floors and then trying to get ready for the garage sale, my house was a disaster. Thank you Mom, I love you!

Oh, Tristan has a lot of lessons to learn from his Mommy. Our friends (my best friend of 16 years) has a precious little girl named Olivia that is just a couple of months older than Tristan. Well, he has the hots for her, he has ever since he met her, and he took her a flower last night. Well, he tried to EAT the flower. My son is a brute and will eat ANYTHING! So, he has to learn to not destroy his dates flowers and to not be a piggy when out to dinner with them!

well,

there were more than just Marvin and his brother Melvin. There are babies and they are in the the hot water heater insulation. Plus they have chewed a hole in the baseboard in the closet in the garage. I am just thankful that they are staying outside. With all the rain we have had lately, they have decided to run for shelter, at my expense. So, there are a ton of traps and D-Con hanging out in the garage. And I am waiting for a call back from the exterminator. I wish I knew of some sort of Mouse Dance to make them go away. Maybe I can learn the KingFisher dance from one of Tobbie's Angelina Ballerina (a mouse character in case you didn't know) books. Maybe that would make them surry away. AGGGGGHHHH!!!! Ok, that was me screaming.

TA-DAAAAA

Sweetie McSweets is set up on Etsy!!! I currently only have two items up, I need to put a few finishing touches on some other items and they will be up as well.

So, all you need to do is go to etsy.com and look up Sweetie McSweets (that is my shopname). Here is a sneak peak to what is already listed:

and here are a few bibs that I made for someone. I still need to add some finishing touches. These aren't for sale, but I would be more than happy to make one for you with your child's initial on it!

HAHAHA...

Not only did I get Marving the Mouse, but I also got his twin broder, Melvin! But, they are sneaky little things. After an hour, I went out to check to see if I had "caught" anything and there was one little mouse on one of the sticky pads and we was just eating away at the peanut butter. I went out a little while later adn he was GONE! WTF??? How could that be? Well, I had put out a second trap as well, and I gots me two of 'em! They are currently eating peanut butter while stuck. They are going to die eating. But the gross part is, they are out there trying to wiggle themselves off. Heebeegeebees, shudder! I might have to start drinking early today to dispose of the nasty little rodents. I am just thankful they didn't make their way into the house. HAHAHA (insert EVIL laugh)!!!!

Oh, I couldn't bring myself to exploit the wiggling rodents, just use your imagination.

And I promise to not speak of rodents anymore, well, at least until another shows up. That's what I get for living in an old pecan grove.

I'm gonna...

get you sucka! That's right Marvin the Mouse (Sweet T loves Mickey, so I can't call him that), you are going to be a dead mouse tomorrow! Well, you had better be a dead mouse tomorrow. The mean looking kitty on the front of the mouse sticky pad box is scary!!! Just scary I tell you! I am trying to lure him in with some peanut butter, maybe he will fall for it again and get stuck this time on the sticky pad. I just hope and pray I don't go out there and find him alive trying to get himself unstuck. Don't worry, I won't be able to take a photo of the dead mouse because I probably won't be able to look at him. I will probably have to take a beer to my new neighbor and bribe him to come pick it up. Hmmm, I can't wait to report my findings in the morning. Stay tuned!

Update: To Sell or Not To Sell

Ok, it has been decided that I will start selling my handmade baby goods. I set up an Etsy account last night and have been working hard on some items. I currenty don't have anything up on Etsy just yet, the site is down for maintence and I am working on a cute logo with my PSE7. I have decided on a name: Sweetie McSweets. I was trying to think of something cute and sweet and that is what I came up with. Ok, when I have some photos to publish, I will! Thank you for all the encouragement!

Mouse Update

Ok, that little mouse is a smart one! Not only did he eat the cheese that I put on the traps, but he also ate the peanut butter that my step-dad put on there! I am gonna get that damn mouse! I am headed to Wal-Marts (in the south we like to add an S on the end of anything that ends in MART) today and going to get some sticky traps. If that little guy survives that, he'd better watch out, because he will become target practice with my purdy new pistol!

In Rememberance...

Often I am asked if I named Tristan after Brad Pitt's character from the movie Legends Of the Fall. Especially since his middle name is Bradly. That answer would be, NO!!!

Our son, Tristan Bradly was named after two wonderful War Heros, or as some would say, Warriors.

Tristan is from Michael's dear friend, Tristan Neil Aitken. They were old Artillerary buddies.

Army Capt. Tristan Aitken, who was killed in combat in Iraq on April 4, 2003, once said, "a true winner always gives his best, not to the glory of self, but to the glory of God." Tristan was deployed on January 24 with the 1st Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division, based in Fort Stewart, Georgia. He was killed when a rocket-propelled grenade struck his Humvee. Tristan was in charge of 217 soldiers, was riding in the lead vehicle in an artillery supply convoy when the attack occurred.

Tristan's middle name is Bradly. This is in honor of Michael's Sergent Major during his last tour in Iraq, Bradly Dean Conner.

The Conner family were more than just friends from Michael's work. They were our neighbors and our good friends. Their daughter Katie babysat for us and their son Aaron did our yard work when the guys were deployed.

Sergeant Major Bradly D. Conner, 41, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, died May 9, 2007, near Al-Hillah, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improved explosive device detonated near his vehicle.Conner was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group, Fort Lewis, Washington.

So, with today being Memorial Day and all, please take a moment to pray for our men and women that are serving our wonderful country. The men and women in uniform that put their life on the line for YOUR freedom. Especially pray for those families that have endured the heartache and loss of a loved one that has made the "ultimate sacrifice." Next time you are somewhere and you see a person in uniform, take a moment to tell them how proud of them you are. Let them know how much they are appreciated. I can't tell you how many times I have been thanked for my sacrifice for supporting my husband. It truly makes a difference and it is a nice reminder for those service men/women on why they do what they do.

I will leave you with one of my favorite quotes:

“People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." ~George Orwell

To sell or not to sell...

that is the question. I have learned from my mother and grandmother how to sew. I consider myself a crafty person and I make some clothing and baby items for my children and for my friends children. I have been contemplating on if I should try to start selling these items. I make bibs, nursing covers, burp cloths, hooded towels, dresses and appliqued onesies. I can also make hairbows, but I HATE making them, but I could probably reconsider that one. So, over there on the upper right hand side is a poll, please vote on if you think I should sell some of my items or not. Maybe I could try to sell them at the yard sale next weekend and see how that goes. I currently don't have any photos to share, but I will have to dig some up. Hmmm, this is going to be a thinker!

i love my kiddos

I just love my kiddos. I truly love them and they are my heart and soul. They are the most precious gifts God could have ever given to Michael and I. We definitely want more children, but I love what God has given us and I hope we continue to be blessed.

Oh, and he is back from the sandbox, not home with us, but back on US soil.

House Happenings

Ok, it's been a while. Here is a re-cap of our house happenings:

Tobbie had her annual opthamology exam. All is good, except her left eye is starting to wander ever so slightly. I think it is so slight because only the doc and I notice it. Isn't she cute in her old lady dialated eye glasses?

We had Uncle Corey's 20th birthday

We made gifts for Tobbie's teacher for Teacher Appreciation Day

Tobbie has decided that she likes to drink her juice out of a wine glass

Tristan can sit up!!!!(don't mind the background, that is the upstairs craft/storage room)

I had Wine Club at the house this past weekend and the wine of the month was Viognier. And yes, it has a very high alcohol content!

And lastly, we have a mouse, not in the house, but running around outside around the house. Here is my attempt to catch him

and he outsmarted me

And Tobbie fell asleep at the dinner table with food in her mouth!

so the score is

Mouse-2
Me-0

Happy Mother's Day to all of you that read my blog and are mothers. I got flowers on Friday from my loving husband and they smell sooo good! Plus, Tobbie made me a hand flower at school. She was so excited to give it to me. I'll have to post photos later. Right now, I need to finish getting ready for my family to get here for lunch.

I have a sick girl on my hands. Nothing better than waking at 0430 to vomit everywhere. Plus she has a fever. Poor thing, she doesn't understand it. Hopefully this will pass quickly.

Nice

Ok, the sprinkler system has been having a few issues lately and one we had a guy come out today and do the repairs. Well, he is outside right now having to replace a PIPE because he busted one on accident. NICE. Not only that, but they have had to dig up my pretty yard. Hopefully it doesn't look too bad when he is done. We shall see.

There is a higher power!!!

Ok, Tobbie's playgroup had a Cinco de Mayo party today and I didn't want to ruin my "diet" by over eating the mexican food, so I ate TUNA! I can't stand tuna, but I made a yummy and low in points tuna salad. I had 1 can of Bumble Bee Albacore tuna with 1 tablespoon of mayo and 1/2 a tablespoon of relish on a couple of Wasa light rye crisp bread. Yummy! I still ate a taco at the playgroup party!
Then, our new friends Heather, Jack and Sam invited us to go to Moe's Southwest Grill for dinner. I checked out the menu online before we went and I knew what I was going to have. After dinner we decided to take the kids next door to Cold Stone Creamery to get an ice cream. I couldn't wait, I was going to be bad and have some too. Then my precious darling that never has accidents, looked at me and said, "Mommy, I pee pee my pants!" That was God's way of keeping me from indulging!

Poor baby girl, she never has accidents and she got so upset because we had to go home and change her clothes and not get ice cream. I'll have to make it up to her.

Holy Shitake Mushrooms!

Ok, I changed up my breakfast this morning because my "healthy" breakfast was eating up too many of my daily points. I've been eating 1 serving of Kashi GoLean Honey Almond Flax cereal with 1 cup of skim milk. That alone is 6 points! Yes, it is filling, but I don't like seeing my points eaten up at the beginning of the day, I gotta have some reserve for night time.

This morning I changed it to 1 cup of coffee, with 1 serving of fat-free hazelnut creamer, 2 splenda w/ fiber, 1 1/2 servings of scrambled egg whites, 1 cup of grapes and 1/2 a cup of blackberries. I only used up 3 points! I got my coffee which is amazing!

Now, lets see how filling it is!

Skinny Girl

Ok, I obviously am not speaking of myself!!! I LOVE to watch The Real Housewives series on Bravo, especially the Housewives of New York. And my favorite person is Bethenny Frankel. She is a celebrity chef and she is also coming out with a line of cocktails named: Skinny Gril Cocktails. Well, if you check out YouTube, you can watch her make numerous Skinny Girl Cocktails and tonight I am drinking her Skinny Girl Appletini. The aren't too shabby! You gotta have good vodka to make it taste good.

Oh, another thing I have found that tastes yummy, yoplait cinnamon roll flavored yogurt! yummy!!!

Pity Party is...

OVER! Well, it might carry over on in today a little while the kids and I go shopping. Yes, now it is time to take it out on the checkbook! Just teasing, a little!

Well, I joined Weight Watchers today. According to Michael, I can do the same thing for free by myself, but I need the computer to hold my hand and because I am such a visual person, I need to see it all for my eyes. So, I am doing the online program. I have about 50lbs. that I would like to lose. I don't need to lose that much, but it sure would be nice. 20lbs. would put me at a healthy weight, but I would like to do a little better than that. I can't blame it on just having a baby because I didn't really gain any weight while pregnant and I am 20lbs. lighter than when I got pregnant with Tristan. Weird.

So now you all get to read about my weight loss journey as well!
I would like to go from this

to thisand yes, it is Valerie Bertinelli!

he's gone

Well, he's gone. He left a little while ago. I think he and I were more upset than Tobbie. She really has no idea. Her mind was just on cheese balls. I made a photo book with photos of just Tobbie and her Daddy for him to give to her. She thought it was "cool".

more will come later, don't really feel like writing right now...

Very Happy

Oh My Goodness! I just looked at the photos we had done on Tuesday by my old friend Jessica at , and they are to die for!!! I can't wait to share them with you all, but because a particular grandmother reads this blog, I can't share them until after Mother's Day. I don't want to ruin her surprise! But they are amazing!!!
